The lower level is intended to host most of the unseen things. For example, you don’t think about the space the pool actually takes when you go swimming. Laundry machines are no big deal until you need to do laundry. Communications isn’t thought of until something goes wrong. The private servants will also have their apartments on this floor. As with the realty’s employees, they don’t have to take the space, but it is available to them if they should want it. The spaces are as follows:
Apartments
There will be two 3B/2b/1l apartments that is intended for my personal servants only. This could include an assistant, or a housekeeper. The choice is mine, but no matter what, they will have options to the apartments that would be on this floor. They will have access to the rest of the lower floor, and will be able to access L level of the residence’s elevator. To go to work, they will likely press M on the elevator. The servant is not required to take this apartment, but it will be there if they should need it or until they leave my employ.
Communications Room
There are no telephone lines. Even if Verizon was to keep their POTS? network operational, SIP? is cheaper, and more effective. With exception of the desk office phone in the office, all phones in the residence is using wifi? to connect to the network, to make and receive phone calls. For the office phone, it will connect via POE? and therefore will have a yellow cable along with the access points. To make everything work out, and make sure the proper telephone numbers show up when someone makes a call will be the telephony server. Because of this individual server, it will stand to reason why there will be @fax.fsp.house for the fax server. This is of course to deal with the fax system, and make eFaxing work.
The TV connections will be able to support an OTA? antenna that would be on the roof. Changes can be made for either Verizon FiOS? or Xfinity Cable TV services. I don’t see me using either of those cable TV services, instead opting for Sling which will have all of the channels I will watch at a cheaper price. All of the bedrooms and great room will have a Tablo assigned to it. This will be available to any foster children when they showed they are mature enough to do things on their own without my interventions (such as going to bed on time).
Internet is very important. It is needed for the both the telephone, and IPTV? services. It is of course also used for browsing the internet, watching Youtube videos, and doing email?. There is of course more such as communicating with teachers, and tutors for assistance with regards to their homework.
Laundry Room
This room will have 1 single load washer/dryer set, and 2 double load washer/dryer sets. This will be 6 machines all within the laundry room. This will be intended to do any clothes, bedding, and other items that needs to be laundered. It would be unlikely that the servants will be using these machines since they have laundry machines in their unit. This room will also host the laundry soap, and if desired, dryer sheets. There will also be an ironing board for ironing any clothes that need to be ironed. The idea is to do everything that is needed to be done in the laundry room, and take everything up in laundry bags.
Pool Space
On the deep in, the pool will be 10′ deep. This will take up the entire space of the floor below. On the shallow end, it is only 3′ deep. This will be where the pumps, and machines go to. The pool is intended to make it easier to exercise and enjoy the water. However, the pool space has to go somewhere. This is where everything goes. This will obviously reduce the space of the 31st floor, but for the luxury of a penthouse, there aren’t many in Pittsburgh with an indoor pool on the very top floor of the building.
