This room will look intimidating. All ethernet lines will run to patch panels. From there, ethernet cable will go from the panel to the switch with POE? lines going to the POE ports, and will use yellow cable to discern that they are POE lines. There will be a NAS?, media server, and telephony server. This room will also host the Tablos, and provide a space for those connections to the antenna. The communications room will also have 2 network servers.
The communications room will be in the 31st floor, and accessible by elevator to floor L. Since it is important for only people that know what they are doing to enter this room, it will be locked, and only my RFID tag, or a special key fob for the technician will be able to enter this room. Internet will carry over through the network servers. Each network server will support 2 WAN? connections, and 4 LAN? connections for the switches.
Television will be Verizon only for the cable TV source. The reason for this is there is the Verizon FiOSFiOS since Comcast/Xfinity requires a coaxial line to every TV. The choice for cable TV will likely never be used, but with Verizon using 1 coaxial for their main box, and everything plugs into that main box, it would make more sense to offer Verizon for FiOS TV service. For the antenna, there will be connections to Tablos through OTA? amplifiers. The TV will also be with streaming services, and there will be a media server for collecting acquired videos, and movies.
Since almost all of the telephones are all wifi?, there will be no need to worry too much about POE, and just need to assure a good wifi access point on each floor, and outdoors. In the one instance that there will be a desk phone, this phone will use POE for power, and will be in the office for the days I can take calls, but can’t make it to the office.
